Stress weakens the immune system
Acupuncture practitioners believe and work with the theory that emotional health affects our overall wellbeing. I think this is a relevant topic to refer to in the current climate with all the bleak news stories regarding the weather, travel chaos and viruses.

Far from being a story of doom and gloom which prevail currently, it encourages us to use our techniques for stress management. These can be very simple things like connecting with friends which has been shown to have a positive impact on health. We can also take a little time to engage in the things that bring us joy like walking, spending time in nature, being with those we love, exercising etc.
Acupuncture can can also have an amazing effect on calming the nervous system, and many patients report feeling relaxed after treatment as a very welcome side-effect even if they came in to address something else entirely!
